He said that the Ilorin Climate Action Challenge was aimed at engaging and supporting the best community initiatives, geared toward addressing climate change issues in Ilorin East and West local government areas.
“The Ilorin Climate Action Challenge aims to engage and support the best community initiatives geared toward addressing climate change issues in Ilorin east and west, with some funds, toward the implementation of their ideas.
“We are inviting non-governmental organizations and community members to engage in the first climate action challenge.
“We invite individuals and civil society organizations with ideas and initiatives on environmental sustainability, climate action, and community development, in these two local government areas to apply for the challenge.
“This promises to be beneficial to the communities,” he said.
The project director noted that applications for the challenge would run for two weeks, starting from July 5 to July 19.
He said the project was supported by the World Economic Forum and Climate Reality Project, a US-based non-profit organization, involved in education and advocacy related to climate change.
“The applications received will be reviewed by our team at the Ilorin Global Shapers Community, after which we will shortlist five applicants from each local government area.
“They will pitch their ideas and initiatives to a panel of judges from the private, public sectors, and civil society organizations.
