The Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) said about 520 personnel had been deployed to ensure security during and after the Eid-el-Kabir festivals.
The Lagos state NSCDC Commandant, Mr Eweka Okoro, confirmed the security logistics to our correspondent in Lagos on Saturday.
Reports have it that the Federal Government, to this effect , declared July 11 and 12, as public holidays to mark the 2022 Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
Okoro said the corps were deployed to all the 20 Local Governments and the 37 Local Council Development Areas ( LCDAs) in the state.
He said that the personnel deployed were mandated to be professional and civil to the members of the public.
“The personnel would beef up security during and after the festivities and ensure maximum security for the indigenes,” he said.
The Commandant said some of the personnel were deployed to guard critical infrastructures.
“This include the oil pipelines, government offices , shopping centres, amusement parks , hospitals, custodial centres , among others, within the state,” he said.
Okoro said the corps would collaboration with other security agencies to combat unwanted attacks .
He warned hoodlums who planned to use the festive period to commit attrocities to have a re- think and desist from it.
Okoro, while congratulating all muslims in the state, urged all residents to hint the corps on time of any suspicious movement or activities.
