As Muslims prepare to celebrate Eid-el Kabir, the President of Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria, Prof. Ibahim Abikan, has urged Nigerians to pray for peace and security in the nation.
In a statement on Friday in Lagos, Abikan called on all citizens to utilise the festive period to pray for the country to overcome its challenges.
“On behalf of the Muslim lawyers Association of Nigeria (MULAN), I congratulate and felicitate with Muslim lawyers and the entire Muslim Ummah for the privilege of being alive to witness this year’s Eid-ul Adha.
“Eid-ul Adha is significant to Muslims; it is not only an acknowledgement of loyalty, obedience, sincere devotion and sacrifice on the path of Allah, but also an occasion for friends and families to gather and celebrate,” he said.
Abikan urged Muslim lawyers and the entire Muslims to also use the opportunity of the celebration to pray for leaders in the legal profession and the nation at large.
“Muslim lawyers and indeed the entire Muslim Ummah are urged to exploit the opportunity of this occasion to pray to Allah to assist us as a nation so that we can overcome our numerous challenges.
“Muslims should pray to Allah to rectify our affairs and endow us with excellent leadership as well as good followership.
“May Allah restore peace and security in our land,” he prayed.
Abikan wished all all Muslims happy Eid-el Kabir.
