An Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court on Friday sentenced three minors to 24 months each in juvenile correction home for stealing a toolbox and spare parts.
Delivering judgment, Magistrate O.M Somefun, held that the prosecution has proven beyond reasonable doubt that the minors were guilty as charged. Somefun did not give the minors an option of a fine.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, ASP Olakunle Shonibare, told the court that the minors committed the offense on July 12, at about 1 a.m in Abeokuta.
Shonibare said the boys conspired among themselves and stole mechanic tools, a car engine, and two batteries all worth N550,000 property of Samson Gbadebo.
He added that the boys also conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace.
The prosecutor said the offense contravenes the provisions of sections 390 and 517 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun, 2006.
