The Executive Chairman, Mushin Local Government, Mr Emmanuel Bamgboye, says the council is setting up a committee that will ensure the completion of the Mushin Main Market on time.
Bamgboye disclosed this, on Tuesday, while meeting the market stakeholders, the building contractor, council officials and representatives of the community.
The chairman, in his remarks, appealed to the market leaders, led by Alhaji Bolaji Awoyemi, the Babaloja of Mushin Market to cooperate with the contractor.
The council boss also introduced the building contractor’s team to the stakeholders, Rangeman Construction Company Ltd. led by Alhaja Adedoyin Adekunle.
“The contractor will begin mobilisation to the site by July 31. We want all those occupying the site to evacuate the premises to allow the contractor access to the site with a smooth and hitch free operation for speedy completion of the project,” he said.
According to him, a committee will be constituted for smooth operation during the construction.
Bamgboye added that the committee would oversee and monitor the activities during the entire construction process.
He said that members of the committee to be constituted would include representatives from the market, officials of Mushin Local Government and other stakeholders in the market.
The Managing Director of the construction company, Adekunle, assured the chairman and market leaders of the completion of the project in few months.
Adekunle told the stakeholders that amenities to be provided in the ultra modern market would include 20 toilets, and to be allocated among each section or categories of traders.
She, however, assured the traders of quality services and other amenities expected in standard ultra modern markets.
