Gov. Aminu Masari of Katsina State said that the state government will sponsor qualified students to study at Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Kwara.
Director-General (DG), New Media to the governor, Al-amin Isa, made this known in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Katsina on Wednesday.
The statement said that the governor spoke when he inaugurated a new female hostel named after him and the foundation laying of a male Hostel at the Igbaja campus of the university.
Masari congratulated the founder and chairman, board of trustees of the university, Alhaji Abdulraheem Oladimeji, for the huge investments in the education sector.
The governor reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to encouraging its people to pursue education in any part of the world.
NAN reports that Al-Hikmah is an Islamic University established for the pursuit of both Islamic and western education.
