The family of Emmanuel Koleoso of Labo Area, Ibadan in Oyo State, on Friday, celebrated the glorious exit of its matriarch, Comfort Koleoso, who died at the age of 101 in Ibadan.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Koleoso was a devout Christian of the Methodist denomination.
She was the founder of a Christian Society at the Methodist Cathedral Church, Elekuro, Ibadan.
In his sermon at the funeral service, Dr. Babatunde Taiwo, the Bishop, Methodist Cathedral, Elekuro Diocese, Ibadan, described Mama Koleoso as a lover of children and the people around her.
Taiwo said that the late matriarch had planted a seed of good attitude by founding a Christian society, known as “Afurugbin Society” in the church.
He said that Koleoso, through her career as a food seller at Wesley College, Elekuro, fed and nurtured many great people in the diocese.
The Bishop urged Mama Koleoso’s children to always show love to people around them, urging them to dedicate themselves to the work of God as exhibited by mama during her lifetime.
Commenting on his mother’s lifetime, Remi Koleoso, a Senior Editor with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ado-Ekiti, said he would miss “the unparalleled mother’s care” he has been enjoying from his mother.
Koleoso said that his mother’s care for children was not limited to her biological children alone.
He said that his mother taught him and his siblings to respect people and fear God.
“I will forever be grateful to God for giving me such a mother. She teaches us to fear God in all our actions,” one of the late matriarch’s sons said.
