The management of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) says it has visited the U-23 National Team, who are currently camping in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
This is contained in a statement issued by the club’s Media Team on Thursday in Ibadan.
The National Team is being camped in Ibadan ahead of the U-23 African Nations Cup qualifier against Tanzania in October.
Babatunde Olaniyan, the 3SC Executive Chairman, who led the delegation, was accompanied by the Acting General Manager/Team Manager, Dimeji Lawal and Technical Adviser, Gbenga Ogunbote.
Olaniyan said that the visit was the club’s way of welcoming the U-23 Team to Ibadan.
He said that the delegation’s visit was to also show support to the team.
Olaniyan, however, assured the Olympic Eagles of total support of soccer-loving people of Ibadan and Oyo State in general.
The U-23 Eagles Coach, Salsu Yusuf, who received the delegation, expressed appreciation to the 3SC management for the visit.
Yusuf commended the reception accorded the team since they resumed camping in the pacesetter state.
The 3SC management later presented the club’s souvenir to the team.
On the 3SC delegation were Alhaji Rahman Olopade, the Director of Administration; Gbenga Adewusi, the Chairman, Oyo State Sports Council and Mr Gboyega Makinde, the General Manager, Oyo State Sports Council.
Others were Oba James Odeniran, the Chairman, Oyo State Football Association; Mr Kehinde Ojelowo, the Secretary, Oyo State FA; members of the Oyo FA Board, as well as other stakeholders.
