The Action Democratic Party (ADP) says it plans to work towards restoring patriotism among Nigerians if it wins the 2023 presidential poll.
The ADC Vice-Presidential Candidate, Okey Udo, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Abuja.
Udo said that the party has donated 114 copies of the book “A Great Nation in Bewilderment”, written by three authors including himself to the National Library in Abuja towards restoring patriotism among the citizens.
He said that the authors of the book were inspired by the image of a book on the ADP logo which signified man’s quest for wisdom and knowledge.
“We at ADP have a hand holding a book as our party logo. We believe that the development of any nation is organic and it’s embedded in sound educational enhancement cum system.
“So, on behalf of ADP we donated the books to the national library to encourage the public enlightenment and knowledge-based economy and to reiterate that Nigeria is indeed great,” he said.
Udo said that the book was also donated toward changing the mindsets of Nigerians about the country and urged members of the public to visit the library and gather useful information about the country from the book.
He said that the book was rich in content as it revealed the experiences of Nigerians, and their hopes and aspirations, while also exploring the national challenges including poverty, poor education, internet penetration, and security challenges.
He said the book also sort to proffer solutions to the issues of identity crisis facing young people, who needed professionals to find their voice within the political space in Nigeria.
