The Katsina State Government has reiterated its commitment for continued collaboration with security agencies in ensuring improved peace and security in the state.
The state Deputy Governor, Mr Mannir Yakubu, said this when he received on a courtesy visit on Wednesday in Katsina, the Assistant Commandant General (ACG) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in charge of zone ‘B’, Mr Mohammed Haruna.
Yakubu noted that the corps had earned its self-respect in the eyes of the public, adding that recently the corps in Katsina state had trained special vigilantes to assist in checking communities for improved security across the state.
The deputy governor assured of the commitment of the state government in bringing to an end the lingering banditry and kidnapping as well as other security challenges in the state.
Earlier, Haruna said he was in the state for a familiarisation tour on corps formations and pledged to do everything possible to improve security in the state.
He appreciated the state government for its support to security outfits across the 34 local government areas of the state and promised continued collaboration.
The ACG also commended the state government on its development strides in the state in the last seven and a half years.
