“I just want to move on,” Madu, Ex-Super Falcons International

Ex-Super Falcons International, Maureen Madu, has said that she wants to move on and focus on her dream of empowering the girl-child through sports.

She said that she does not want to be distracted about how many caps she wore for Nigeria.

Madu was reacting to a statement by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) that played 52 official matches for the national team from 1995 to 2007, when she retired.

The NFF’S statement was in response to various news sources claiming Madu had about a 101 caps for the country.

Her fans has been demanding that she be celebrated like other Super Eagles players who reached 100 caps.

Madu while reacting to NFF’s statement, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Monday that:

Google cannot lie and above all I just want to get the issue behind me and move on. I don’t more to say.

I just want to focus on improving the life of the girl-child through sports and that is what we are doing at Maureen Madu Football Kiddies Camp, she said.

Madu was also a former assistant coach of the the Super Falcons.
