An official, responsible for integration said Berlin is moving to stage two of an emergency plan to accommodate refugees on Tuesday.
Berlin’s senator for integration, labour and social affairs, Katja Kipping, said that more and more refugees were arriving in the German capital and there were hardly any free places left in public facilities.
Kipping said the plan is meant to speed up the procedures for assigning refugee accommodation.
He is also considering setting up a large emergency shelter for thousands of people.
In order to defuse the situation somewhat and avert homelessness among refugees, places for up to 4,000 people would be found in a very short time.
