Two persons, Amaka Godwin, 18, and Abubakar Tukur,35, have been arraigned in an Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Wednesday for allegedly stealing bluetooth devices and MP3 players worth N2.02 million.
The police charged the defendants with conspiracy, theft and receiving stolen items.
Dr Simon Uche, the Prosecution Counsel, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on Sept. 8 and Sept. 15, at Glorious Father’s House located in Alaba International Market in Ojo, Lagos.
The Prosecutor alleged that they both conspired and stole 240 pieces of mp3 bluetooth radios, 40 pieces of model 666 bluetooth radio and 100 pieces of ”1066” bluetooth radio.
He said others, are 100 pieces of L8 bluetooth radio, 80 pieces of NS bluetooth radio, 100 MLS bluetooth radio,and 48 pieces of V66 bluetooth, all valued N2.02 million .
However, they both pleaded not guilty to the charge.
He said that the items belonged to Ceaser Resource Ltd represented by Chigozie Nweke
Furthermore, he said the second accused allegedly received the items, knowing that they were dishonestly and fraudulently obtained by the first accused.
Uche said the offence contravenes the provisions of sections 287, 328 and 411 of the criminal law of Lagos State 2015.
Mr L.J.K Layeni, the Magistrate, admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N500,000 each with two sureties each in like sum.
The case was adjourned until Dec. 9, for trial.
