Veteran Nigerian actress, Funke Akindele-Bello, has implied that she’s not buoyant in a conversation with her fans on social media.
The respected actress shared this on twitter when a fan asked her for a giveaway on Sunday, March 7, 2021. Funke Akindele, also known as ‘Jenifa’, declined the request, saying ‘Enu gbe’, which means she’s not rich enough for freebies.
The fan tweeted; ‘Ma do giveaway’, hoping her request would be accepted and perhaps get free item (s) from the screen diva. Funke Akindele however surprised her over 1.3 million followers on the platform when she said she was broke.
Another fan angrily replied her tweet, called her ‘stingy Jenifa’. Instead of getting angry or lashing out at the fan, she calmly explained that she was not financially stable as at the time of their exchange.
Another follower defended Funke Akindele, revealed that the actress isn’t stingy because s/he won N5,000 airtime from the ‘Omo Ghetto’ actress during the EndSARS protests.
Sighting the response, the fan who initially branded the actress ‘stingy’, tweeted again, this time, he apologised to her.
