Six years after heated aggression with revered rapper Olamide at the 2015 Headies Awards, music executive Don Jazzy has come forward to clear the air, stating that he meant no harm in his comments.
Recall, Olamide and Don Jazzy quarreled after Reekado Banks, who was signed to Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records, won the Next Rated award ahead of Lil Kesh, who was signed to Olamide’s YBNL Nation.
Both Olamide and Don Jazzy said some spiteful words to themselves. Olamide threatened to beat up Don Jazzy, while the latter asked the former to come collect the car prize that was attached to the Next Rated award.
In a recent interview with Ebuka, Don Jazzy finally explained his statement. He noted he uttered all he said on stage jokingly, with no malicious intention.
The respected producer also faulted Headies Awards’ organiser for calling him immediately after Olamide’s outburst on stage. Don Jazzy said he would have collected the award and left, but the atmosphere was still hot, he had to react, hoping to suppress the pressure.
Don Jazzy stressed that he was taken out of context. Watch the video below;
