American musician, Pharrell Williams, has praised Nigerian songstress, Tiwa Savage, for forthcoming extended play (EP), titled ‘Water and Garri’.
Tiwa Savage gave Pharrell Williams an exclusive preview of the new compilation, and all he said were uplifting words. He cleared all the doubts the former Mavin Records signee had on the project.
The ‘Ife Wa Gbona’ crooner shared a video clip of Williams expressing his opinion about ‘Water and Garri’. She also revealed her worries for the project because it is not a commercial body of work.
“Had @pharrell listen to my EP ‘Water and Garri’. I made music for the soul and one of my favs just confirmed it. I need a date to drop this,” she wrote as a caption for the video.
Williams shared his opinion, stating that; “Anybody that doesn’t get that shouldn’t be listening to music. You’re right, it’s not a commercial song, but that’s a classic,” the renowned producer said.
“And be clear that it’s okay to have a classic. That right there, that’s like boat music, that’s like barbeque music, that’s like self-reflection music.”

The upcoming EP, ‘Water and Garri’, is expected to be Tiwa Savage’s follow-up EP to her 2020 release, ‘Celia’.
