Renowned for his hit track, ‘Soul E Baba Dey Here’, former secular musician-cum-pastor, Emmanuel Okosi, popularly known as Soul E, has criticised the current state of the Nigerian music industry.
Soul E expressed his disapproval for the contents being churned out by the new generation musicians. He said the music industry is now filled with nonsensical music in a recent interview with Punch.
He added that the industry started with passionate musicians who love their craft, however; the artistes are now doing music for fame and money.
In his words, “Trust me, the industry lacks content, the music I hear these days are pure nonsense. Only few have (good) content in their music. It is really sad what the industry has turned into. When we started, it was all about the passion and love for the craft, but now it’s all about fame and money. It is so sad.”
