Afrobeats musician Wizkid, while reflecting on life and his music career, discloses that his biggest religion in life is love. Wizkid stated this in docuseries featuring thoughts from the superstar, some of his peers and mentors.
The singer said growing up in a very spiritual home in Lagos opened his mind, and he discovered that love is very important when he used to follow his father to the mosque and his mother to church.
Wizkid also revealed that the most important thing to him is family, he said; “I’m a big family guy. My son is like my best friend. He calls me every day. I talk to him every day. We have the craziest conversations. It’s just very important for me to keep a family.
The ‘Joro’ crooner said fatherhood is more important to him than his music career when he said he’s a father before anything else.
“That’s one thing that our parents instilled in us. Fatherhood means everything to me. Me being a father is everything. Before, I was just Wizkid a musician. But when I had my kids, I’m a father before anything else.”
The mini-documentary was to mark the 10th anniversary of Wizkid’s debut studio album, ‘Superstar’. Watch below;
