Nigerian rap mogul Olamide has premiered his brand-new album, ‘UY Scuti’, today June 18, 2021. He released the studio album in partnership with his own label, YBNL and American record company, Empire.
‘UY Scuti’ is an English compilation of songs, which differs from his other albums. ‘UY Scuti’ means the largest known star in the universe, and with this album, Olamide targets the international market.
Olamide said he chose the title because the album is bigger than all his previous musical projects. “I chose UY Scuti for the title because this project is way bigger than anything I’ve ever done before. From the creativity, the amount of work that went into the project, the process, it’s just a new Olamide inside me.”
‘UY Scuti’ album houses 10 tracks, featuring Phyno, Jaywillz, Fave and Layydoe. In the new album, Olamide explores amapiano, alte, dancehall and reggae, among other music genres.
The body of work follows the success recorded by ‘Carpe Diem’, his last studio project.
