Talk of the town billionaire club owner, Obi Cubana, has revealed how he made his first million naira after his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program in Abuja.
The Chairman of Cubana Group, Obi Iyiegbu made this known during an interview with BBC pidgin.
WITHIN NIGERIA had reported that the billionaire club owner became talk of the town after he buried his late mother, Ezzine Iyiegbu in grand style, in what many have called a lavish display of wealth over the weekend in Oba, Idemili-South Local Government rea of Anambra State.
Reacting to concern over the source of his wealth, the 46-year-old billionaire stated that his riches were as a result of hard work.
According to him, during his NYSC program in Abuja he was paid a monthly allowance of over N100 and additional N2,000 from his place of Primary Assignment at the National Assembly.
He revealed that after his inability to secure a job after his NYSC program, he was introduced to the real estate business, where he met a client who wanted to furnish a house.
Obi Cubana said after furnishing the house for the client, he was gifted N500,000 and he also made over N600,000 in profits for the job.
“That was the first N1.1 million I made before I joined contract work in Abuja. I signed a contract with PPMC, made a little money, then bought my Mercedes V-boot,” he said.
The political science graduate from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka further stated that he invested the money he made into a garden beer parlour before he established Cubana.
