Gospel Singer Tope Alabi Robbed At Gunpoint, Suspects Arrested

The Ogun state police command has confirmed popular Nigerian gospel musician Tope Alabi was robbed at gunpoint at her supermarket in Oke Ore, Ota in Ogun state.

Abimbola Oyeyemi, the spokesperson for the state police, said on Monday that the veteran singer was held hostage while the armed robbers made away with huge amount of money.

Oyeyemi also confirmed that three suspects Anu Ibikunle, Rasheed Bisiriyu and Adebowale Dada, linked to the robbery have been apprehended.

Their arrest came after a distress call received at the Atan Ota divisional headquarters at about 9:45 pm on Thursday, he stated.

The police spokesperson disclosed that the men of the police recovered a locally made pistol, two live cartridges, and assorted dangerous charms from the suspects after a chase.
