Afro-pop singer Adekunle Gold brags that his forthcoming studio album will be mind-blowing.
The talented musician who refused to share details about the album scheduled for release in a few weeks stated he hates to be predictable about his style of song.
Adekunle Gold, while speaking about his music career, told BBC Africa that all of his songs have a reflection of him in them. He added that he remains the same Adekunle Gold his fans have known since 2015.
“There’s no song of mine that doesn’t reflect me… I’m the Adekunle Gold you have known since 2015. One thing is constant: I’ll always put my soul behind any song, no matter how experimental I get, I’m always going to sound like me,” he said.
“I hate being predictable. After my first album, I feel like people thought that is the only thing that he knows how to do. Therefore, following the release of ‘Gold’ album, I said my next project will be an upgrade.
“So, I decided to make ‘About 30’ a bit different. When it dropped, there were mixed feelings, with some asking ‘what’s he up to?’.
“After ‘About 30’, I knew my next album would be a totally different sound. So, in all these, I knew it and planned for it. Not like I just woke up and decide that I want to change. I don’t just want to be the guy that is known for only making a certain sound.”
“I’m not allowed to share details about it now but it’ll drop in like few weeks and will be mind-blowing. I have proven that with ‘Sinner‘ already,” he added.
The ‘Sade’ crooner also disclosed that he and his wife, Simi, assist each other with their music.
