Britney Spears accused of battery by housekeeper

A housekeeper for Britney Spears has accused the pop icon of striking her during a dispute Monday morning at the star’s Southern California home, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.

The employee claims that Spears, who has been embroiled in a court battle over ending her conservatorship, confronted her when she returned to the house. Spears allegedly slapped the housekeeper’s phone out of the woman’s hands.

The housekeeper initially called deputies to the house, and then went to a sheriff’s station to file a report. The employee was not hurt.

Britney’s employee reportedly told the cops that she took one of the singer’s dogs to get checked out. She claimed she did this because there were issues with the treatment of the pet.

She claimed upon her return, Britney confronted her and they got into a disagreement about the dog’s health, allegedly leading to the 39-year-old singer knocking the housekeeper’s phone right out of her hands.

The housekeeper filed a report at the Sheriff’s station after the alleged incident.

But Britney and her team denied the claims made against her and said the housekeeper is making it all up.

The housekeeper initially called deputies to the house, but then went to a Sheriff’s station to file a report.

The deputies attempted to get in touch with Britney to get her side of the story, but she would not speak with them, TMZ reports.

A source told TMZ that cops allegedly assured Britney’s team that the housekeeper’s case would “go nowhere.”

Meanwhile an official at the Sheriff’s Dept. said the investigation is ongoing and its outcome would determine whether or not a misdemeanour battery charge against Britney would be filed.

This investigation follows just after Britney scored a major victory in the ongoing conservatorship case, Her dad Jamie agreed to step down as conservator of her estate earlier this month.
