Afrobeats superstar Wizkid has premiered the highly expected deluxe edition of his ‘Made In Lagos’ album today, Friday, August 27, 2021.
The deluxe edition of the ‘Made In Lagos’ album houses four new records, ‘Anoti’, ‘Steady’, ‘Mood’, a duet with burgeoning talent Buju, and ‘Essence (Remix)’ featuring Tems and Justin Bieber.
The Nigerian global star had earlier put the world on standstill with the remix of his popular Tems-featured track, ‘Essence’, when Canadian superstar Justin Bieber jumped on the summer anthem.
Wizkid also this week made a remarkable feat to emerge as the first Nigerian musician to top the Billboard World Albums Chart with his ‘Made In Lagos’ album sitting at number one (1) spot on the American map.
Wizkid maintained his ground as a continental musician through the release of the ‘Made In Lagos’ project in October 2020. The album had a collection of musicians making great exploits in their countries. It features the likes of Burna Boy, Ella Mai, H.E.R. and Damian Marley.
Wizkid, having inked his name as the most prominent Nigerian artiste in the world, is the most decorated Afrobeats musician to come out of the African continent. His international journey could be traced back to his 2014 release, ‘Ojuelegba’, which opened doors for him in the foreign market.
His enviable talent is unique amongst his peers in Africa. The combination of his musical expertise and hard work, backed with strong managerial team, earned him his first Grammy Award plaque in 2021, thanks to his collaboration on ‘Brown Skin Girl’ by Beyonce.
This new album is expected to push the acclaimed project farther than it had already gone.
