The return of Nigerian popular reality TV show, Gulder Ultimate Search, was recently announced. This means that the survival reality show will be back on television once again. The Gulder Ultimate Search which served as entertainment to a lot of viewers in the early 2000 had their first edition in 2004.
As the Gulder Ultimate Search show comes back on TV, I think it’s best to know about the tragedies which have occurred concerning the past contestants in the reality TV show.
These tragedies include the two sad deaths recorded among the past contestants. Below are the two Gulder Ultimate Search ex-contestants who tragically passed away.
1. Anthony Mudiaga Ogadje
Anthony Mudiaga Ogadje who was 25 at the time of his death, was a graduate of Geology from Delta State University, Abraka (DELSU).
Anthony, who was going to participate in the fourth edition of the Gulder Ultimate Search, lost his life in a drowning accident during the shooting of the show. According to the report, late Anthony drowned in Shere Hills Lake, Jos, Plateau State.
It was reported that Anthony was on the canoe with other contestants when his belongings fell into the lake. He tried to retrieve it, but accidentally fell in the lake. All efforts to save Anthony’s life by the medical team, lifeguards and his colleagues was futile, as Anthony was pronounced dead. This led to the suspension of the show by the organizers.
2. Hector Joberteh
Hector Joberteh is the winner of the 2006 edition of the Gulder Ultimate Search. Hector was shot dead by some unknown gunmen at his apartment.
According to close friends of the ex-reality TV star, Hector was trailed from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
He had gone to the airport to pick up a relative, not knowing that he was being followed by some unknown gunmen who were after his life.
Hector was eventually shot at his apartment and was rushed to the hospital, but, unfortunately, he couldn’t survive it as he was pronounced dead.
