Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde popularly known as K1 De Ultimate has kept mute amidst recent backlash from the general public who accused him of disrespecting a popular Monarch, the Oluwo of Iwo.
K1 in a video trending online was seen exchanging banters with the king in a manner many have described uncultured, untraditional, uncouth and disrespectful.
In the video, K1 was seen using the word, ‘o’ for the monarch, a word used widely in Yoruba land for someone who’s your peer, low to you or younger. He was also seen shaking hands with the king, an act considered to be disrespectful in Yoruba land.
The critics are of the opinion that even if K1 De Ultimate is older than Oluwo of Iwo, he ought to respect the stool which Oluwo represent, especially when talking to him in public.
Many argued that he would never try such thing with the Ooni of Ife who recently clocked 47.
Meanwhile, while the heat of the criticism is getting hotter daily online, K1 seems to have developed a cold and thick skin towards criticism going by his post this morning on his Facebook timeline.
In his post this morning, K1 believes he would always survive anything life throws at him sooner or later.
His words:
“Sometimes life will kick you around, but sooner or later, you realize you’re not just a survivor.
“You’re a warrior, and you are stronger than anything life throws your way.”
