Ikoyi-Building Collapse: Video of Gospel singer Yinka Alaseyori holding a prayer session on rooftop surfaces

A video of Nigerian gospel singer, Yinka Alaseyori singing with her crew at the collapsed Ikoyi building has surfaced online.

This came a few days after a 21 storey building under construction collapsed off Alexander way, Gerrard Road, in the Ikoyi area of the state.

On Wednesday, the death toll from the collapse hit 22, and 9 persons sustained injury and are in hospital.

The incident has embarrassed the Lagos State Government, which has been making moves to attract foreign investors.

However, a video shared by one Gbenro Adegbola captured the moment Yinka Alaseyori, the developer and many others were singing and praising God.

According to Gbenro Adegbola, the developer and the gospel singer held a prayer meeting a few days before the building collapsed.

Gbenro Adegbola said;

This apparently a few days ago. A prayer meeting on the rooftop of the uncompleted tower. The developer himself in white”

The Governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, ordered the suspension of Gbolahan Oki, the General Manager of the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA).

Sanwo-Olu has also said there would be an investigation into the collapse of the 21-storey building that came down in Ikoyi, Lagos State on Monday.
