Filmone Entertainment, the Nigerian movie studio, has put out the first teaser for ‘Aki and Pawpaw’, the highly anticipated remake of the 2002 classic ‘Aki Na Ukwa’.
The teaser for the classic family comedy film was released on Wednesday — ahead of the December 17 cinema release date.
The movie will see Chinedu Ikedieze and Osita Iheme rehash their roles as hilarious brothers (Aki and Pawpaw).
Other cast members include Toyin Abraham, Amaechi Muonagor, Anita Asuoha (Real Warri Pikin), Uti Nwachukwu, Stan Nze, MC Lively, Beverly Osu, Juliet Ibrahim, Hanks Anuku, and Chioma Okafor.
The film was produced by Chris Odeh and directed by Biodun Stephen.
The remake of the movie was first revealed in May when Ikedieze and Iheme shared an Instagram conversation about dropping the new project.
It got fans excited as they craved the return of the iconic duo to their screen after a decade and a half.
The two celebrated comic actors have gained fame in the country’s movie industry with numerous awards and recognition.
In 2007, Iheme received the lifetime achievement award at the African Movie Academy Awards.
He was also honoured as a member of the order of the federal republic (MFR) by President Goodluck Jonathan in 2011.
Ikedieze, on the other hand, snagged strings of awards and featured in over 150 films in an impressive career.
