Chimamanda Adichie speaks after she was honored as ‘Library Lion’ at this year’s New York Public Library Gala

Nigerian writer, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has reacted after herself, Tina Brown, Jonathan Lethem, and Darren Walker were honored as Library Lions at the New York Public Library’s annual gala.

This year’s annual Library Lions Gala which brought together the literary world, was held on November 8, 2021, at the New York Public Library’s Stephen A. Schwarzman Building.

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, who was honored alongside Tina Brown, Jonathan Lethem, and Darren Walker, took to Instagram to share photos and speak about the event.

The Nigerian author whose works include novels, short stories and nonfiction, reacted by saying that to be honored as a Library Lion is “utterly spirit-lifting.”
