Nigerian comic actor Olatayo Amokade, profoundly called Ijebu, has disclosed what he considered being ‘one big disadvantage’ of social media.
The Nollywood thespian said controversy is that one big shortcoming of social media he tries to distance himself from. Ijebu made this known in a recent chat with Punch when he was discussing his humble beginnings.
“Before joining Nollywood, I was a very determined person. I always made good use of all the opportunities that came my way,” he stated.
Talking about how he tries to stay far away from controversies, he said; “The question is, can one really avoid controversy? Even if one tries hard to stay away, it would somehow navigate to one. That is one big disadvantage of social media. I just always try my best to distance myself from any drama.”
When asked about how lucrative acting business is, Ijebu said the passion for what one does should be considered before the pay.
“If one loves what one does, and it’s one’s passion, one would not have a problem with that. There are good days and bad days. It is the passion one has that would keep one going. It happens in all sectors, not just Nollywood, and some are even worse.”
The actor noted that rejecting a movie role is a no for him, as he would try his best to project any character given to him, including x-rated.
