As far as Nollywood is concerned, there are names that will not be forgotten in a long time. Aki and Pawpaw, are some of those names.
It is even funny that a lot of people did not know the real names of these actors or that they weren’t even children till later in their career when they revealed it. The duo fit perfectly well into their role that it looked so much like whatever they did in movies is their reality.
Even though they had lots of movies people can remember them for, along with the pictures of them recently used for memes, there are a couple of questions that remains unanswered about Aki and Pawpaw. One of those questions is if they really reached their full potential as actors.
As far as comic movies are talked about in Nollywood, the names of Aki and Pawpaw will be mentioned. So how did they gradually fade away into the background like they didn’t own almost a quarter of screen time back in the early 2000s?
Aki and Pawpaw in the digital age
There is no overemphasizing the importance of digital tools in the distribution of creative works in this modern age of the internet. We have seen repeatedly how being able to master the art of ‘going digital’ has helped musicians build a strong fanbase, and how it has helped in movie distribution.
If the Aki and Pawpaw we watched back then had streaming platforms their movies could get placed on, they would have cashed out lots of money on those movies. That alone is not even the topic of discussion, rather than having a well-documented archive of these movies where you can always go to and be sure you will get the movies from Aki and Pawpaw that you want to watch. Simply put, Aki and Pawpaw in this digital age will be a hit.
