Nollywood actress, producer and director, Fathia Williams (formerly Fathia Balogun) has taken to social media to drop a subtle advise for her followers this week; urging them not to make bad decisions even if it doesn’t seem fruitful at the beginning, at some point good deeds will yield good fruits.
Fathia Williams dropped a video on her verified instagram page with a caption:
“Each time you make a good decision or do something nice or take care of yourself; each time you show up to work and work is hard, do your best at everything you can do, you’re planting seeds for a life that you can only hope will grow beyond your wildest dreams. Take care of the little things-even the little things that you hate-and treat them as promises to your own future. Soon you’ll see that fortune favors the bold who get things done. Happy new week fam.”

Fathia Williams who hails from Delta state, was born in Ikeja on February 5, 1971.
The actress has eight siblings and she grew up in a middle-class polygamous family of Catholics. Her early years were spent in Lagos State, but Fathia soon moved on to receive a degree in Law from the Kwara State Polytechnic.
She spent some years working different low-paying jobs, until she was able to begin her acting career in the early 90s. However, her actual career did not start until the year 2000, as Fathia left Nigeria for London for a few years.
Her journey to becoming an actress was by chance as her uncle, Alhaji Fatai Teniola, asked her to stand in for an actress that failed to show up in one of the productions of their movie, that was how Fathia got her first role in the movie title ta lo pa chief. She has since then starred, produced and directed several Nigerian films over the years.
In 2008, Fathia won the Africa movie academy award for the ‘most outstanding actress indigenous’ and her movie iranse aje, won the best indigenous film of the year.
In April 2014, she won the ‘Africa movie academy award’, having emerged ‘best actress of the year’.
In 2015, Fathia won ‘best indigenous language award’ for the work done in the film, iya alalake.
Fathia Williams was formerly married to veteran nollywood actor, Saheed Balogun with whom she has two children.
Interesting fact, Fathia and ex husband, Saheed share the same birthday. They were both born February 5.
Around March 2006, Fathia and Saheed suddenly split and stopped living together but didn’t get a divorce until January 17, 2014.
Up until the day of their divorce, Faithia claimed that she was not going to drop her husband’s last name, as her children had it too. However, she has since returned to her maiden name, even though she is still often regarded as Faithia Balogun.
