An entrance worthy of a king: Laycon’s magical entrance at Icon Fest

Laycon

Ex-BBNaija Lockdown winner, Olamilekan Agbeleshebioba popularly known as Laycon was able to prove beyond all doubt last night at his Icon Fest that he is a big name in the entertainment industry.

It was a night of magical entrance, surprise appearances, and energetic performances at Eko Hotel yesterday as artists trooped in to show their support for Laycon at his first-ever Icon Fest. Some of the artists that performed at the concert include Bella Shmurda who thrilled the crowd and set the mood for the night even before Laycon’s magical entrance.

We also saw other artists like Zlatan, Rudger, LAX, Blaqbonez, Small Doctor, Joeboy, WhiteMoney, and Neo who came on stage to show love to his friend, among many others who held the stage and gave a superb performance.

Kenny Blaq did a wonderful job keeping the crowd laughing with his always-creative performance, just as the Bandhitz came through in their elements, delivering hot on the drums, guitar, piano, and other instruments. Also, DJ Chocolate Thvnder delivered greatly on the sound, keeping everyone on their feet.

Laycon’s Magical Entrance – An Entrance Worthy Of A King

The creative way Laycon was introduced on stage is magical, to say the least.

The audience was first plunged into darkness for a couple of seconds, and then the lead singer started to chant Laycon’s name, singing his praise like it is done for Yoruba kings entering into any gathering. This was accompanied by different drums, and especially the talking drum echoing his praise in the background.

Out of the darkness, Laycon was ushered in, introduced to the light in his white Agbada and cap. The crowd went wild immediately they saw him showing how much everyone has anticipated his entrance.

He was once again covered by his dancers and then reintroduced into the full light of the stage.

“Shall we begin?” He asked as he started off the night, thrilling his fans to a wonderful night of music and dance for all of the night.

Conclusion

Putting together a concert is no mean feat. Doing it with the type of artist lineup we saw at the Icon Fest yesterday is something worthy of praise. Also, considering the period of exposure and how well Laycon has been able to manage his rise to fame, building a massive fanbase for himself, it won’t be long before he starts to sell out shows in some of the biggest arenas.
