Stunning Nollywood actress Zainab Balogun-Nwachukwu has branded the ease of doing business in Nigeria as ‘horrible’.
Zainab Balogun lamented that Nigeria doesn’t have a conducive environment for business owners and entrepreneurs in the country.
The 32-year-old ‘Chief Daddy’ starlet pointed it out that regulatory agencies, landlords, and power supply company frustrate the efforts of business owners trying to make an honest living in the country.
“Doing business in Nigeria is a horrible experience 99% of the time. If it is not a frustrating landlord, it’s subpar facility companies, NEPA deficiencies or fraudulent government agencies who want to punish you for making an honest living. You’ll dot all your i’s and t’s but it is not always enough,” she wrote on Instagram.
She added that her accountant resigned because of her company’s refusal to pay bribe. “Had an educated accountant resign because we refused to pay a bribe to LIARS. Can you imagine? We broke no law, filling/audit was all up to date, but she was upset at our principles.”
Zainab further revealed that despite all these challenges, they have to be nice to their customers. “Then you have to make sure your customers don’t feel the burden. They will be pissed. They won’t always understand. Some will even enjoy your misfortunes, yet you have to do it all with a smile on your face and the best customer service. Salute to the Nigerian entrepreneur,” she wrote.
