Amazon has declared Nigerian musicians Rema and Tems as artistes to watch out for in 2022.
The two singers were listed in Amazon Music’s ‘2022 Artists To Watch’, which comprised 50 musicians from different parts of the world.
Rema, signed to Mavin Records, headed by renowned music executive and revered producer Don Jazzy, has been one of the most talked-about budding talents to come out of Nigeria and the African continent. He made an international impression in 2021 with his releases, ‘Soundgasm’ and ‘Bounce’.
Tems, arguably the biggest female musician in the international scene right now, attained her global height following her collaboration on ‘Essence’ by global superstar Wizkid.
The song grew to become one of the biggest songs in the world in 2021. Also, Tems’ ‘If Orange Was A Place’ EP, and her collaboration on ‘Fountains’, a track off Drake’s ‘Certified Lover Boy’album, added to her multiple accolades.
“I feel blessed to be selected by Amazon as an artist to watch for 2022. I’m looking forward to a special year and having my music and message reach more people,” Tems says.
With Rema and Tems’ feature as artists to be on the lookout for in 2022, they are expected to be supported through prominent placements across Amazon Music’s playlists and stations in 2022, along with an additional focus on new releases and further partnership opportunities to be announced later in the year.
Amazon Music is a global music streaming platform and online music store operated by Amazon.
