The Niteshift G’uvnor, Ken Calebs Olumese has put up The Coliseum in Opebi – unarguably known as Nigeria’s No. 1 celebrity hangout – up for lease.
Recent reports have it that Olumese sealed the lease deal some weeks back with a showbiz entrepreneur who has chosen to remain anonymous.
The Coliseum which opened under the name The Niteshift in 1988 moved to the permanent site where it is located now and started operating under the name The Coliseum in 1999, and it remained a booming celebrity location till it shut down operations in 2014.
G’uvnor Olumese’s 30-year reign as a showbiz impresario was cemented by The Niteshift and The Coliseum before his retirement.
Why Olumese shut down Niteshift Coliseum in 2014
According to an interview on City People Online, the G’uvnor as he is fondly called just needed to pack it up because according to him, ‘time was up.’
The Niteshift Coliseum had to be shut down when he retired because the club was a personalized one where the G’uvnor himself welcomes his guest at the door, and he simply could not pass that kind of business down to his son or any other body because of how personalized it was.
“Since that my clientele is not there now, I don’t need to go on again with the club.”

One can conclude that G’uvnor Olumese had his time in the Nigerian entertainment space and putting Coliseum on lease now only means that he has moved away from it after haven done all that could be done in the industry.
He has retired to quiet family life and at his age, nothing beats that amazing moment.
