Umanu Ojochenemi Elijah, the director of the blockbuster movie, ‘Devil in Agbada’ is on the rise after being named one of Nollywood’s top breakout directors in 2021.
The list, compiled by FilmOne Ent, West Africa’s largest film distribution outlet had Umanu as one of Nollywood’s top breakout directors, an honor that has encouraged the producer to work even harder than he already does.
Following the good news, Umanu Ojochenemi Elijah expressed his excitement, stating that 2021 was a piece of cake compared to what he plans to accomplish this year.
According to Umanu, he has no plans to slow down this year, as he will be shooting more back-to-back films in 2022 than ever before. He said this while he also revealed that he has four blockbuster films scheduled for release in 2022.
Umanu Elijah is one of Africa’s most creative and decorated filmmakers, with extensive experience in cinematography, editing, and directing. He holds an international degree in digital storytelling from Birmingham Film Academy, as well as a British Council degree in cinematic filmmaking.
He is the founder of Krystal Filmworks Limited, Nigeria’s leading production powerhouse comprised of some of Nollywood’s most talented young filmmakers.
He has been part of several Nollywood blockbuster movies including Devil in Agbada, Bitter rain, Almajiri, Call to Bar by AY Makun, LOUD the movie, The Millions, Made In Heaven, Locked, She is, among others.
