Nollywood actor Saheed Balogun, Mr Ibu, Legendary musician, Shina Peters and others have come under heavy criticisms after presenting an award to Buhari’s media spokesman Femi Adeshina.
A photo making the rounds online captured some notable Nigerian actors presenting an award to Femi Adeshina at the Aso Rock.
They presented the award to Adesina under the aegis of the Ambassadors of Voice for Change, a group of Nollywood actors and entertainers, led by Ahmed Bala.
Receiving the award, Adesina stressed the need for national unity, saying Nigeria needs peacemakers who will entrench nationalism and patriotism in the polity, and not spoilers.
The President’s spokesperson said the Buhari administration would continue to support Nigerians working assiduously to promote peace, harmony and development.
His Instagram post;
This did not sit well with many Nigerians as they questioned the award’s purpose and blasted the Celebrities for being concerned about their pockets instead of the masses.
It’s the build-up to the 2023 elections, and many Nigerians who seem tired of the current challenging situation in the country are not smiling with anyone supporting old politicians.
