Nollywood veteran, Jim Iyke just launched the first part of his book series titled ‘The Gift in The Odds: Walking Through Walls.’
The first volume of the book series was said to have been launched on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, where Jim Iyke explained the inspiration for the book came while he was secluded in the South of France with his son at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.
This is coming shortly after his debut production movie ‘Bad Comments’ was released last year, generating millions at the Box Office.
‘The Gift in The Odds: Walking Through Walls’ talks about grief, anxiety, depression, and all types of emotions experienced at the height of uncertainty. This first part is said to be the first volume of a 15 part series on self-empowerment that the actor wrote during the 2020 lockdown in France.
How ‘The Gift in The Odds: Walking Through Walls’ was birthed
In 2020, Jim Iyke had been visiting Disneyland in Paris with his son when the pandemic broke out and the actor was stuck there, then forced to go to the South of France, staying there for six months.
Isolation had taken its toll on his mental health by the second month of the confinement, but he channeled his misery into book writing, which he had always considered.
One of the concepts he discusses in the book is the lack of conviction that one’s family may play a significant role in overcoming adversity. Instead, he feels that, as it happened for him when he was on the edge of breaking into the Nollywood industry, support will most likely come from unexpected strangers.
