Inasmuch as the audio for the remix of ‘Ozumba Mbadiwe’ by Reekado Banks featuring Fireboy DML is not as impressive as we expected it, the music video received striking directional path.
Below are five notable takeaways from the video directed by TG Omori.
1. The Don Effect
How easy do you think it is to attack a don? Reekado Banks, in the video of ‘Ozumba Mbadiwe’ remix, was portrayed as a don who is extremely calculative and smart enough to foresee an attack on him before it actually happened.
2. Attack from ‘bandits’
In a country where banditry and kidnapping are rampant, Reekado Banks tapped inspiration from the criminal happenings in Nigeria, turned it into a creative work and used it to his advantage. The bandits came for the don who has been on a low-key for a while, believing they’ll be able to get to him, but they failed.
3. Reekado Banks drives a boat on the highway
This is a stunt only a don can pull, and Reekado Banks successfully stunned us when we saw him escape from bandits through a boat driven on the highway. A little bit of exaggeration is not too bad for this type of video, as it serves as comic relief.
4. ‘Better follow who knows road’
Fireboy DML came in with a not-so-impressive line, which is actually the reality of what obtains in Nigeria. To make it in Nigeria, you need to know people who are generous enough to carry you along.
To become successful, you have to align yourself with successful people, people who are thirsty for success and those who are ready to do the hard works to attain their goals and aspirations in life.
Apparently, Fireboy aligned himself with people who know the music industry. They impacted his career and contributed to his swift success as a musician.
5. Fashion and Style (Outfits)
Simplicity, they say, is the ultimate sophistication. The video is packed with a lot of activities that were nicely conveyed through Reekado Banks and Fireboy’s simple fashion attires.
