After claims that a Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) recording which is part of the evidence in his lawsuit was tampered with, popular actor James Olarewaju aka Baba Ijesha’s court case has taken a new twist.
The embattled actor is facing a six-count charge of child defilement bordering on allegations of indecent treatment of a child, sexual assault, attempted sexual assault by penetration and sexual assault by penetration.
A defence witness and expert in CCTV installation and maintenance, Engr. Adeleke Lawrence made the claim while appearing before an Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on Thursday February 17.
Two video recordings of Baba Ijesha were played during resumed proceedings on Thursday February 17, following the request of defence counsel, Babatunde Ogala (SAN).
The first video showed the defendant sitting on a sofa with the victim. Two men and a woman walked out in the recording, which had no audio.
Asked of his opinion on what he saw, the witness said: “The gentleman and the lady appeared to be acting the way they were asked to do.”
