As part of Zee Africa’s company focus for this year, the top-flight Indian content channel has revealed plans to work on two local productions in Nigeria.
Somnath Malakar, the Chief Executive Officer for Sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands, recently revealed this during the partners’ meet session in Lagos.
“Our aim and focus are to maintain number one. The company intends to invest more and to this end, we will be having two local productions for Zee World in Nigeria. This is the first time. Hopefully, we will also run a Zee One production soon.”
Malakar further revealed that Nigerian and Indian movie stars will collaborate on the production to create two masterpieces for Nigerian and African television audiences.
Following a recent merger with Sony, Malakar added that Zee Africa plans to provide content close to viewers’ hearts in Hausa and Yoruba as well as for children very soon.
Furthermore, Malakar stated that a Nigerian version of the highly successful dance show Dance Africa Dance will be released before the end of 2022 which will be tagged as Dance Nigeria Dance.
“We plan to have Dance Nigeria Dance in Nigeria while possibly starting a Zee Naija channel. The Dance Nigeria Dance will occur two months from March 2022.”
