Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Ebunoluwa Ogulu, professionally known as Burna Boy, has pulled out of his scheduled performance at the upcoming 2022 AfroNation Festival.
The singer announced his withdrawal from the festival on his Instagram handle on Thursday.
Burna Boy stated that he wouldn’t be able to make it to the festival due to circumstances beyond his control.
“I am extremely gutted that I wouldn’t be at the AfroNation Festival in Puerto Rico, due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control.
I will make it all to you all for sure! Love Damini.”
The AfroNation, one of the biggest world Festivals in Puerto Rico, is returning after two years due to COVID-19. The festival will be held in two places, Puerto Rico and America this year.
It was scheduled to take place between March 24 and 26 in Balneario de Carolina, Puerto Rico, while the later part is expected to hold between July 1st and 3rd in Praia de Rocha Beach, America.
American rapper Rick Ross has however replaced Burna Boy at the Afro Nation in Puerto Rico.
The replacement was speedily effected after Burna Boy’s team informed organisers that he will not be able to attend the show.
Other Nigerian artists such as Wizkid, Patoranking, Yemi Alade, Wande Coal will be performing at the festival.
Recall Burna Boy has been putting afrobeats on massive spotlight with the latest being in Dublin, Ireland. The ‘Dangote’ crooner recently performed before an enormous crowd at the popular 13,000-capacity 3Arena in the European country. Read here
