Seyi Edun has revealed how she balances her many roles.
Nigerian Yoruba actress, Seyi Edun, advised young actresses in the movie industry on the need to remain focused, humble and tolerant. Speaking in an interview on Saturday Beats, she said:
“Young actresses need to be focused and humble. They should also have the spirit of tolerance and endurance. More importantly, they should embrace peace.”
Seyi Edun who is married to fellow actor, Adeniyi Johnson spoke about balancing both her business, foundation and career in the make-believe world. She said:
“I had always been a business person before going into the entertainment industry.
The main inspiration behind starting my own business is my entrepreneurial spirit. I love and enjoy being an entrepreneur.
Even within the entertainment industry, I am more involved in the business side of things because I am a producer. I sponsor my movies myself, while also acting in them. I have been selling (things) online for many years before opening my walk-in store.
I just feel this is the right time God wants me to open the store because I have a strong desire to succeed for a purpose much bigger than myself. I also have a foundation called, ‘Shaiworld Initiative’, through which I give back to society by sponsoring children whose parents cannot afford to pay their school fees.
I do this through giveaways held on my social media pages. Currently, we have four of such people in school with the support of some great people. We also feed the less privileged.”
Speaking on the movies she has produced and recently featured in, Edun said:
“Some of the movies I recently featured in are ‘Immoral’, Oderinde, Ogulutu, Borders, Owo Ojiji, Ogo Mushin and Idekun.
My latest movie is Alejo, while my long-awaited movie, Idan, will be released soon.”
Speaking on how she has been able to manage her career with family, she said:
“I am happy that I am with my best friend. We understand each other to a very commendable extent. The idea of time, self and resource management continue to sharpen our marital life and we are balancing things appropriately.”
