Veteran Fuji Musician lsiaka Sawaba is dead

Popular Ibadan-based Fuji musician Alhaji Isiaka Iyanda Sawaba aka Easy Sawaba is dead. He was 71 years old.

Easy Sawaba, one of the greatest forces to reckon with in the Fuji music industry, was announced dead on Wednesday, April 6, 2022.

lsiaka Sawaba died at the Intensive Unit of UCH.

The renowned musician was said to have collapsed on his way back from a party 2 weeks ago and he was immediately rushed down to the above-mentioned hospital for treatment.

According to a reliable source, he has since been on oxygen at the Intensive Unit of UCH before he died today.

The veteran Fuji musician had a major career in the Fuji music industry in the 1970s and 1980s.

He released more than 22 albums, including Suru, Igbo Odaju, Pata Olokun, Ayetoto and Oroseniwo among others from the stable of old Adetunji Records (Babalaje Records) owned by the present Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso 1.

He became more popular with his leading role among the then younger generation of Fuji musicians who supported the late Fuji icon, Sikiru Ayinde Barrister during his rivalry with General Kollington Ayinla.

Sawaba was signed on the stable of the Keji Okunowo-led defunct Sony Music in 1992 where he released ‘Message,’ an album produced by Laolu Akins.

His last known album ‘correction’ was released in 2018. May his soul Rest In Peace!
