Udomboso John Saviours, popularly known as Young John and sometimes referred to as the ‘Wicked Producer’ has been named the most recent featured artist in Apple Music’s Up Next artist program in Nigeria.
This follows the release of his latest single titled ‘Dada’ which helped the 27-year-old producer transition from being a well-acclaimed music producer to an Afrobeat artist to look out for.
Coming from his background as a music producer, Young John established his name in the Nigerian music industry with credit to hit songs such as Kizz Daniel’s “Mama,” Mayorkun’s “True,” and Olamide’s “Wo!!,” “Bobo,” “Science Student,” and many more.
The announcement of the Chocolate City Music signee as the Up Next Artist in Nigeria can also be credited to the success of his recently released EP ‘Love Is Not Enough’ which is said to be doing great numbers on Apple Music.
While speaking about the announcement, Young John expresses his satisfaction with being honored by Apple Music and assures his fans to share more of his music in the coming days.
“Music has always been an outlet for me. Due to my social anxiety issues, I was only able to express this by producing music for other artists like Olamide, Tiwa Savage, and Kizz Daniel. To have Apple Music Up Next program’s recognition for the music that I’m producing and releasing as an artist is such a big moment for me. I am thrilled and can’t wait to share even more with my fans.”
Young Jonn will be featured on Apple Music’s Up Next playlist as the newest Up Next act to be spotlighted in Nigeria.
The Up Next playlist is produced by Apple Music editors from around the world and contains a diverse group of new and upcoming artists. The playlist is genre-neutral and features a lineup of artists who Apple Music’s worldwide editors are excited to share with a wider audience.
