Nigerian production company, Take 7 Media has announced the end of principal photography of its latest film ‘Maia,’ a faith-based romcom shot in Abuja.
The production company made the announcement on Thursday, along with details about the film, which began filming earlier this month.
The faith-based film, written by Michael Garuba and Emil Garuba (who also serves as producer) and based on a story by Bem Pever and shot in the Federal Capital Territory, tells the story of a young woman’s struggles to undo a curse placed on her years ago while trying to maintain her successful career and keep the love of her life.
‘Maia’ is the story of love and how far people will go to find it.
Synopsis of the film ‘Maia’
Set in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, we follow Maia on her quest to erase a curse she was given as a child, with often comic and devastating results, in order to be with the man of her dreams. It’s a story about the traditions and problems of ‘perception’ as the key to a happy and normal life.
Ego Nwosu, Mofe Duncan, Ekemini Jane Essien, Collins ‘Shadyville’ Chukwu, Lara Wise, and Preach Bassey all-star in the Romcom along with others in supporting parts.
The film ‘Maia’ is currently undergoing post-production and a release date has not yet been set.
