The movie “Foreigner’s God” by Ifan Michael has joined the list of the latest Amazon Prime’s Nollywood titles.
Nearly three years after its theatrical release, the 2019 film has quietly launched on Amazon Prime to join the list of other Nollywood films that has been launched on the streamer.
The historical drama, produced and directed by Ifan Michaels, is set in the Enugu colonial era and follows an English photojournalist who falls in love with an accused living in deplorable conditions.
Synopsis of Foreigner’s God
“At the peak of the colonial era Nigeria, English documentary photographer Pepper Claude, following a tale of the supernatural, journeys into the heart of Igbo land in search of a story. All goes well until his bodyguard mysteriously disappears and h falls in love with one of the culprits- Anya, an accused witch living under subhuman in a witches’ camp in the heart of the jungle.”
“Foreigner’s God,” executive produced by Kelechi Freeman Ukadike, received some buzz in 2019 for its magnificent cast and eye-catching costumes.
Pete Edochie, Sam Dede, Onyeka Onwenu, and Eucharia Anunobi star alongside Toni Tones, Ini-Idima Okojie, Lala Akindoju, Toyin Abraham, Henry Brinton Coxe, and BBNaija star Bam Bam in the period drama.
The film’s Amazon release coincides with rumors that Michael’s new period piece ‘Singing Sin,’ starring Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde and Toke Makinwa, has begun production.
