Nigerian superstar Davido has taken a step further to redefine his music by going personal and featuring the American Choir, The Samples, in his latest hit song titled ‘Stand Strong.’ The Samples choir is known for co-leading Kanye West’s ‘Sunday Service.’
Davido takes us to church in the gospel-like song that sees him boasting about his 30BG gang, who are always there for him in all situations.
The musician made it known that no pleasure comes from pain, but God gathers his steps, and that is why he keeps standing strong despite the hatred he faces from people.
“This one is special to me. It’s different. The conception has been different. The mindset has been different. Davido spoke about the new song, ‘Stand Strong.’
Davido stated that the new song is to give insight into his lifestyle, which is a battle every day. He added that he wants his fans to ‘feel’, and not dance this time around.
He said; “I know you love it when I make you dance, but now I want to make you feel. This one’s for everyone out there holding it up. I know what I’ve experienced the past 10 years, and a lot of you have been through it all with me. But… have you really?”
“For the first time, I want to bring you into the other part of my world. The part where every day is a battle but I have no option but to STAND STRONG. I present to you, the first single off my next album.”
‘Stand Strong’ is Davido’s debut song for 2022, and the focus song off the upcoming studio album. Pheelz produced the track. Listen below;
