Actress Onyii Alexx has accused the operatives of the National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) of invading her home without a warrant.
The 32-year-old called out the organization in an Instagram post, demanding an explanation for the alleged invasion. She wrote:
“NDLEA Nigeria kindly come and explain why your people will burst into my house with no warrant before I put the video out.”
The actress is not the only celebrity who has accused law enforcement of harassment in the past.
Others who have been raided by the NDLEA include skit makers De General and Nasty Blaq and music artistes Zinoleesky and Mohbad.
In an Instagram post on August 23, 2021, Big Brother Naija reality star Dorathy Bachor accused officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of breaking into her home.
She wrote in parts:
“At 4:35 I heard a loud bang and voices, I rushed out to see five armed EFCC men in my living room and one of them saying ‘Oh na that Big brother girl be this’.
In my confused state, I was trying to understand why they broke down my door. Then one of them said they were looking for someone who ran into the estate and I should lock my door and stay indoors and not say a word. I’m shaking at this point and so confused because how exactly is this even okay?”
In July 2021, it was reported that filmmaker Biodun Stephen accused the officials of the EFCC of harassment.
According to her, the officials apologised after realising that she was not the person they were looking for.
